    Learn and experience
    the tea ceremony

    We begin with a simple explanation of the history and meaning of tea ceremony, followed by a live demonstration of a formal tea preparation performed by the instructor. You will then enjoy two servings of matcha green tea, accompanied by seasonal Japanese sweets. After that, you'll try your hand at preparing your own bowl of matcha.

    You don't need to know manners.

    No prior knowledge of etiquette or procedures is required. Even if you’re unsure how to walk on tatami mats or are unable to sit in a formal position, there is no need to worry—our instructor will guide you with kindness and care.

    English guidance is also available, making it a popular option for international visitors (please request English guidance in advance when booking).

    Tea Ceremony Experience (Reservations required)

    This approximately one-hour program is easy to enjoy even for those new to the tea ceremony. After an easy-to-understand introduction to the history and meaning of tea ceremony, you will watch the instructor demonstrate a full-scale tea ceremony (the act of preparing matcha). Afterwards, you will enjoy two cups of matcha along with seasonal Japanese sweets, and you will also have the opportunity to try preparing tea yourself. No prior knowledge of the manners and etiquette is necessary. The instructor will provide gentle and careful support, so anyone can feel free to participate.

    You can casually enjoy freshly brewed authentic matcha and seasonal dried sweets.
    Each cup is carefully brewed after you order, bringing out the aroma and flavor of the matcha. Enjoy it with our dried sweets. Be sure to stop by during a break from sightseeing or shopping.
